Born in the former Yugoslavia, I moved to the U.S. in 1999, bringing with me only the few sketches and notes I could carry by hand. Soon thereafter, I understood that the story I was going to “tell” meant starting from scratch. There are pictures; there are memories; and there are dreams – these are the places of privilege. These are the places that define my life, and my art is inseparable from my life.
